Oli is a participatory and strategic designer with over 10 years of experience in interdisciplinary change-making, from the design of our cities to how we fund social change. His work combines design, participatory and deliberative practices to tackle systemic challenges through community-led design and governance.
Oli’s experience has centred on shifting power and agency over the design of public spaces, services and policy to the communities they intend to serve. This has included leading participatory design at Shift, leading democratic innovation at Nesta, and as a strategic design lead in the urban innovation team, the Arup Studio. Moving forward, Oli’s work is focusing on combining democratic practices with real-world design, whether that be for new funding programmes, new services, or new governance.
