The Impact Collective

Training for UK university social ventures

Client: London School of Economics (LSE) / Impact U

Duration: 20+ online workshops, 2024-2026

Beneficiaries: UK universities and their students and academics developing social ventures

The situation: Impact U brings together UK universities led by LSE to provide training and funding to support pre-seed social ventures founded by academics and students in their communities.

Our solution: We designed and delivered multiple online workshops, including Social Ventures 101, Theory of Change, Business Model Canvas, Storytelling and many more, suitable for participants ranging from total beginners to those familiar with and starting to apply these concepts. These sessions were interactive and practical, using concrete examples from existing social ventures in the UK.

The result: Students, academics and professional services staff joined from universities across the UK, providing very positive feedback.

“The Impact Collective have created and delivered fantastic online talks for ImpactU. They worked with us to understand our needs and delivered sessions on Social Ventures 101 and Theory of Change for university based ventures. The talks have all been extremely engaging and the team are great at breaking down complex topics. We had very positive feedback from attendees.” – Charlotte Rowan, Senior Research Innovation Manager
